The Paddy McGrath Housing Project is governed by a voluntary board of directors. It is made up of experienced and driven people. The board is responsible for the overall control and strategic direction of the organisation.
Barre Fitzpatrick (Chairman)
Barre has over thirty years’ experience coaching and training high –performing professionals and senior managers both in Ireland and overseas. He has facilitated many high-profile organisations with their strategic planning and executive development.
Tom Finlay
Tom Finlay acts as an independent director of Financial Services Companies, is an executive coach, a supervisor of executive coaches, and a psychotherapist. Tom’s leisure interests include fly-fishing in the West of Ireland, Cycling, and all-year-round sea-swimming.
Kelly Fogarty
Kelly has been a Private Secretary to the UN Representative for Ireland, as well as undertaking a chief administration role with a Foras Forbartha. Later in her career, she became a Director of an SME, with a focus on management accounting. She still retains a supervisory position in that company, while focussing much of her professional time operating her mediation and conflict resolution business.
Aidan Smith
Aidan has over 40 years’ experience in Civil and Structural Engineering in the UK, Ireland, and The Middle East. He was involved in the three Granby Lane projects with CSEA Consulting Engineers and continues to act as a consultant to them following his retirement as a director in 2017. He is a Chartered member of Engineers Ireland and the Association of Consulting Engineers in Ireland.
Bernard Treacy O.P.
Bernard Treacy, O.P., is director of Dominican Publications and editor of the journal Conversations, having edited the theology journal Doctrine & Life from 1989 to 2023. At the time the Project came into being, he was a member of the same Dominican community as the founder, Fr Paddy McGrath.
Pat Barker
Patricia Barker is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, having qualified in 1973 – the twentieth woman to qualify since the inception of the Institute in 1888. She completed an MPhil in Equality Studies Trinity College. She holds a diploma in Counselling from Maynooth University. Her PhD developed a paradigm of disclosure of financial information to employees in Public Interest Entities.
She served as Chairman of Chartered Accountant Ireland’s Financial Accounting Committee for twenty-one years. She served two terms as a Council Member of Chartered Accountants Ireland, chairing the Education Board and currently represents Chartered Accountants Ireland on the CCAB international Ethics and Governance Committee. She was a member of the Urgent Issues Task Force in London for nine years.
Pat Cooney
Pat is a Chartered Engineer and has over forty years’ experience in the provision of scientific support for medical technology in healthcare. He was Chief Physicist and Head of The Department of Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering in Beaumont Hospital. He maintains his teaching and tutorial duties with the Faculty of Radiology in The Royal College of Surgeons. He enjoys photography, music and sport.
Geraldine Kelly
Geraldine qualified as a Solicitor in July 1988 and has been in practice as a Sole Practitioner since February 1994. Her Practice is a General Practice dealing with mainly Property, Personal Injuries, Family Law and Wills and Probate. She was appointed Chair of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal in
November 2022 and chaired the Tribunal for ten years. She is a Mentor for the Law Society Mentoring programme for Women in Law.
